GENERAL QUESTIONS

No. All of our client meetings are done online, via a questionnaire or live chat. It’s rare that we NEED to meet people face to face. We know the questions we need to ask you to get the full scope of your business website. We setup a hour appointment with you to go through everything via online chat. You have the option of our client support chat, whatsapp or telegram.

Technology allows us to do so much in a small space of time so we don’t believe face to face meetings are necessary.

We are always happy to meet you in person if you really need us to but we’ll arrange a consultation price for travel and possible accommodation depending on the distance.

You go to our client support where technical support will assist you. If the problem is minor they will assist immediately, if it is a bigger issue they will require you to submit a support ticket.

As you can imagine, the answer to this question will vary from project to project. However, we do our best to manage each project as efficiently as possible. That being said, we do not expect to develop the site without your participation, insight, experience, and assistance in helping us understand what will work best for your business and your goals. While the average site will take between 8-12 weeks to complete and between 50-75 hours on our end, we anticipate that the amount of time a client will put into the project during that same time will be approximately 15-20% of that.

What we’ll ask you to help with:

  • Have access to your domain name so we can manage it with changes as the new site goes live.
  • Gather and organize any necessary photos and documents you’ll want to use in the site.
  • Work with us to answer questions about your business, your goals and your customers.
  • Create and/or edit content for each of the pages that will be outlined in the initial website flowchart.

No, we do not outsource our work.

We follow a comprehensive quality assurance check to make sure the work we do and websites we build for you functions as it should and works as it should in a variety of browsers and on multiple devices. Should an issue arise that is directly related to the programming and development of the site, we will work to correct the issue at no cost to you. Should issues arise from deleted content, deleted pages, or errors while updating the site that require our services, we will discuss prior to engaging and billing. Bottom line is we want to be fair and want you to trust that your site will work as it should.
We do offer maintenance packages to secure your site at all times.

Absolutely – so let’s get going before they call. We have a wonderful working relationship with all our clients and we work on a strict client confidentiality. We do not discuss clients the one with the other.

WEB DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT

Before we begin working together, we’ll usually send you a questionnaire so that we can get an idea of what you want. The Q&A is very thorough and we ask the questions we need to know. Clients tend to try and explain what they want and then just ramble on and on not getting to the point. The questionnaire also allows us to go back should we not be certain about anything.
Once we get started, most of the communication will take place via live on site feedback

This makes the process a lot easier as we’ll have all of the information saved and can come back to it later. Once we’ve finished the project, we will book in your 1hr  session to go through everything and get your feedback for changes.

There’s not one single answer to this question. A website design is quoted based on the needs of each individual project. Every website is unique and requires different components; we design and develop custom websites specifically for your business needs. We’ll ask a lot of questions, assess your needs, and give you a quote based on that assessment. Most of our sites run in the R7,000 – R20,000 range, but can be more or less depending on needs.

On average, we shoot for a six to eight week turnaround, but the pace of any project is set by each client. How much input you can provide during the initial stages, your availability with feedback, how soon the content is ready – all this affects the speed of completion. The functionality needs may also play a role – more complex sites will take more time to develop.

It really depends on what type of website you want. If you have an existing website some of this might already be on the existing website, in which case it can be transferred over to the new site

  • Images of you and your team
  • Images of your workplace
  • Content for the website e.g. text, PDFs etc
  • Staff Profiles
  • Any Videos you would like adding to the website
  • Login details to your existing website

 

You create a dropbox account and create folders for content.
Written content must be in a word document and it must be submitted exactly as you want it displayed on the site. Do not submit text in capitol letters, bold and italic if you don’t want it displayed that way on the site.

Images must be submitted to a seperate folder in jpg, svg or png.

Once you completed the dropox you may share the link with us via client support helpdesk so that a ticket is opened for you.

You’re in luck.Before we build your new website, we’ll design a dummy site to introduce you to the look and feel and to see if we are on the right track with the information you provided to us.. You’ll get to see our initial designs within approximately ten days. This is your opportunity to give us feedback and if you really don’t like it, you don’t have to move forward. Best part is, this won’t cost you anything.

You can have an unlimited amount of pages on your website. We will usually design you  pages layouts i.e. A homepage, a blog page an inner pages e.g. your about, services and contact page. You can then use whichever layout you want for each new page you want to add.

If you already have a website. That’s great. This means we can build your new website whilst your other website is still live. Once we are ready to go live and you are happy with the new site we can then swap the old site for the new one. It can take as little as 10 minutes for the new website to be visible. This means you’ll barely even notice a dip in your traffic numbers.

Facebook is NOT a website and it is not yours, it is merely a advertising and marketing tool. 

If you have more customers than you can handle and don’t want anymore then you might not need a website. However if you want to expand the business, get more enquiries or become the go to person in your space then you should have a website.

Yes, BUT it will cost you thousands a month. Websites like Facebook, Amazon and Twitter are not like standard websites. They require hundreds or thousands of hours of work just to get the website launched. Not to mention that you’ll need a team of developers on hand 24 hours a day to keep the website running smoothly. 

GRAPHIC DESIGN

Graphic design is a design process that combines text and graphics in a way that is intended to communicate a specific message.

You will find graphic design in company logos, printed materials like brochures, posters, signs, greeting cards, postcards, business cards, billboards and ads. Advances in technology have brought us the digital environment complete with websites, online ads, virtual brochures and presentations, and so very much more.

Graphic designers can use hand-illustrated designs as well as computer-aided designs thanks to a wide range of software with nearly endless digital design tools. The availability of software like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop have become staples of the graphic designer.

A graphic designer does more than just put their creative skills to work. Though most graphic designers are intuitively creative already, they have generally spent time studying numerous design principles. It’s vital to understand how to use design elements to transmit the required messages and values as well as evoke a certain feeling in the viewer. As a visual communicator, they leverage these design elements and use concepts such as color, typography, space, balance, form and lines to create their visual message.

TECHNOLOGICAL ISSUES

Website Maintenance includes the update and management of the system that powers your website. It can also include content updates in terms of text and image content updates, small layout changes, fixing problems on your website and can even include basic search engine optimization.

Please note that this service is a maintenance service of an existing website. It does not include support or requests for changes to the design or functionality of your current website. For design changes or functionality changes, you will be quoted separately on a case to case basis, usually at a minimum of R500 per hour, unless you require a total redesign of your website, in which case you will be quoted a once off fee for the redesign.

Yes. Hosting is like renting space on the internet. You’ll need to buy hosting otherwise people won’t be able to access your website.

Hosting is super important! When it comes to hosting, you get what you pay for.

If we build your website, we will generally manage the hosting for you so you don’t need to do anything. Each website is managed individually to avoid any security issues. Every website we build has unlimited bandwidth, 20GB of disk space, 2GB Ram and 99.9% uptime. 

We prefer to host your website so that we can offer immediate support when something goes wrong on the website. That way it removes the back and forth all the while your site is down.

Hosting is depending on your requirements. Hosting prices usually increase the more website visitors you have. We offer different Hosting Packages 

DOMAIN REGISTRATION | TRANSFER

Of course. You’re buying a website from us. It’s the least we can do. As long as it’s available for purchase. We’ll send you an annual invoice for the renewal along with the hosting fees.

Please note that different domain names cost different prices. Please enquire beforehand.

You will own the domain. We will register the domain in your name and address and it belongs to you. This means you have ultimate control over it.

SEO

It depends which package you choose. SEO is usually an ongoing commitment and will require continuous work. However, we do offer a package that will start you off on the right foot.

It can vary dramatically but we offer different SEO Packages This is generally a starter plan for a local business with a moderate amount of competition.

It really depends on how much work will be required and how much competition you have in your industry.

We track your rankings using our reliable software. We get updates everyday and we’ll be able to see what’s working and what isn’t. We’ll send you a monthly report so you can see your traffic numbers and rankings. 

It depends. There’s no clear answer to this question as search engines change their requirements all the time. However, we have had clients get to the first page for their main keywords within 2 days of launching and we’ve had websites take 2–3 months for Google to show them on the first page.

However, there is no guarantee you will ever get to the first page of Google for your main keywords, some of your competitors might have huge marketing budgets or have been there for years. 

CLIENT SUPPORT

You may submit a ticket to client support when you have an active website maintenance package or a content management package.

If you have a minor request like an email not sending or site showing error please use the chat support on the right side of the screen.

  1. You create a dropbox with a folder for each page you want the revisions or changes to appear on. 
  2. On a word document specify where the problem is and supply the changes as you want it to appear. This may be the only time you can insert a image in a word doc.
  3. Images must be in a seperate file in either jpg or png – see image size guide
  4. When you request link changes please copy the complete link starting with https://
  5. Social media links must also start with https://
  6. Do not copy and paste work with backgrounds please use the clear format option when you paste.
  7. Submit work exactly how you want it displayed on the website. If you do not want bold, italic or uppercase on the website then do not submit it that way in your word doc
  8. Once you are completed create a ticket via client support and share your link .

Once you submit your ticket  support will review your work and should there be anything that is not clear they will contact you. You are in a ticket system and as your ticket is up we will proceed with work on your site. We normally work on a 3 business day turnaround time.
